Amenities Officer – Full Time vacancy

The Town Council wishes to appoint an Amenities Officer to play a lead role in making sure that the council’s buildings and open spaces are clean, safe and pleasant to use.

The post holder will work indoors and out on a wide range of jobs, including strimming footpaths, pressure washing war memorials, weeding streets, tending to the Palemon Best recreation ground and looking after open spaces in the parish. The successful applicant will often work alongside the council’s Facilities Officer and caretakers, as well as working alone. She or he will therefore need to be able to work as part of a team and be motivated enough to work alone for lengthy periods. The job involves the use of powerful equipment (petrol-driven strimmer, pressure washer etc) and so candidates will need to be physically fit and capable of sustained effort.

S/he will be joining a small and dedicated team that is motivated by a strong desire to provide really good services for the residents of and visitors to St Ives, Halsetown, Carbis Bay and Lelant.
