Traffic Control

St Ives developed originally as a fishing village, growing into a bustling town visited by thousands of tourists each summer.  To help the road network to keep moving, the town council employ traffic control officers on a seasonal basis to help direct traffic and keep everyone on the move.

Motorists can help the town to keep moving (and avoid traffic jams in the summer) by using the large edge-of-town car park at Trenwith, or better still why not park at St Erth and enjoy the beautiful branchline train journey along the coast of St Ives Bay, stopping at Lelant Saltings (a welcome stop for walkers and bird watchers), Carbis Bay and St Ives.
