The St Ives Bay Youth Council

The St Ives Bay Youth Council are a group of students from the 6 schools of the St Ives area.  They represent the young people.

Meetings are held in the Council Chamber six times a year and the Mayor and one nominated Councillor are invited to attend.

During these meetings the Councillors raise and discuss issues and implement ideas for the benefit of the whole community.

August 2019 Update:

At their last session, the St Ives Bay Youth Council chose to produce posters to warn people not to feed seals.  This followed their concern that a seal had been injured by a rudder in the harbour last year.  The Harbour master agreed to display the posters, and copies have also gone up in the Library and the Guildhall.   The idea of the children was welcomed by the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary who said that it was fantastic that they were aware of the problem.
