Wedding Blessings at the Island Chapel

The Island Chapel, St Ives –

A magical place to have your wedding blessed!

Looking out at night

Known to millions across the world, the iconic Island Chapel is the perfect place to have your marriage blessed.

With spectacular views across St Ives Bay, taking in some of Britain’s best beaches and Godrevy’s magnificent lighthouse, the Island Chapel will make you the envy of your guests and give you memories that will last a lifetime.

Bride and groom inside Chapel

Overlooking the stunning beaches of St Ives, Carbis Bay and Hayle for more than 500 years, the Chapel is the perfect place to start married life together, mark a special anniversary or celebrate the naming of your child.

As well as our magical venue, we can also help you create a day that you and your guests will always remember by providing a range of bespoke services.

If you’d like us to, we can:

  • arrange floral decorations for the Chapel.
  • provide a Cornish  cream tea for you and your guests post ceremony.
  • appoint a Minister or celebrant to conduct your service.

Blessing

Why not legally wed at the wonderful Guildhall and complete the day with a blessing at one of Cornwall’s most unique and iconic buildings?

Simple Island Chapel hire costs £150.

The Island Chapel was featured as the conclusion to the ‘Weddings at the Guildhall’ Wedding Fair on 7 June 2015 – a short film showcasing an enactment of a Cornish Wedding Blessing with local models playing the part of bride and groom can be seen at this link.

Going To The Chapel of LoveMarriage at The Guildhall, Street-an-Pol followed by a Cornish blessing at the 15th-century St Nicholas chapel on The Island, overlooking Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. Thank you for the music to the Cornish Highland Piper and Tir Ha Tavas (Dee and Dave Brotherton) and of course former Grand Bard of the Gorsedd, Mick Paynter for his ceremonial expertise in this conclusion to our Cornish Wedding Fair.
