The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 was developed to increase democratic accountability, making it easier for local people to access information about councils’ activities. Transparency is the foundation of local accountability, giving people the information and tools they need to participate in local democracy and decision making. Under the code, all councils (including principal authorities, towns and parishes) are required to publish regular information on the following:
- All payments made over £500 on a quarterly basis
- All contracts and orders for goods and services over £5,000 on a quarterly basis
- Details of Land and Buildings owned or operated by the Council
- Grants made to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations within the financial year
- Details about staffing, senior officer pay (if it exceeds £50,000) and the pay multiple
- Details of any Trade Union facility time
- Details of the Parking Account or any parking spaces
- Cases of fraudulent activity investigated during the year
- Details of any waste contracts let

Parking Account/ Parking Spaces
Current car parking spaces controlled by St Ives Town Council are as follows:
Sloop Car Park: Space for 42 cars.
For the Financial Year 2025/26 the revenue for the Sloop Car Park is broken down as follows:
Income: £158,182
Expenditure: £ 32,160
Net Income: £126,022
All figures are net of VAT. Sloop Car Park is enforced by Cornwall Council; St Ives Town Council does not receive any income from PCN fines.
Any net proceeds earned from car park income is used to support the services provided by St Ives Town Council to reduce the requirement from council tax.
Fraud 2023-24
There were no cases of fraudulent activity investigated during the year and no staff have professional accreditation as counter fraud specialist.
