The Town Council are very pleased to announce the successful appointment of the new role of Cornerstone Manager to Luke Dimech.
Luke joins the team with a wealth of experience including managing Cornwall College’s library and learning centre, he is a training manager and has degrees in photography and professional writing. And Luke is also an enthusiastic fiction fan and has written a book, The Samurai: Book One of the Samurai Trilogy.
He shares the council’s vision for the building and its services and on commenting on his new role offering up this quote “‘I belong to the warrior, in whom the old ways have joined the new.’ I aspire to bring modern edge into the Cornerstone building while preserving its traditional essence, expand it’s community spirit and entice a creative following to utilise the building as an inspirational hub’ Luke Dimech.
Councillor Kirsty Arthur, Chair of Facilities stated “We are so delighted to have Luke joining us as part of team. The library and information service has been on an upward trajectory for the past few years and the appointment of Luke into this new role is the next step in that journey. The Cornerstone building is such an important part of the town, hosting the much needed library service, and well used visitor information service and we are excited about the coming year and beyond and what’s to come for the building.’
