Harbour Beach

Harbour beach is within the heart of the town and the harbour walls. It is tidal with plenty of sand at low tide and a very sunny stretch, protected from high winds. The shallow waters are child friendly and ideal if you want a dip straight after hitting the shops. But please be sensitive to the fact that St Ives is still a working harbour and this beach is at the heart of it. Commercial fishing boats still operate and the town’s essential emergency service – the RNLI lifeboats- launch from the station and have done for decades. If there is a “shout” please clear the beach and watch from a safe distance.

Please note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between the 1st July and the 31st August (10am – 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place.
