St Ives Town Council

COVID-19 Statement

This statement follows recent developments of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

The Town Council want to re-assure the local community that it takes the threat very seriously and will be following all official Public Health England guidance which is issued.

At the moment, there are no official recommendations about hosting public events and gatherings. For this reason, the Town Council has not yet taken a decision to close the concert hall or Library Information Service or to cancel live performances or markets. We will be keeping this decision under very regular review. Some event organisers, however, may still cancel individual events and, where this is happening, we will provide regular updates through social media, the Library Information Service and the website.

Council offices and public toilets also remain open and Council meetings will continue to take place. But it is possible that this position will change over the coming days and weeks. We will continue to follow Government advice and take all safety precautions recommended.

In line with Government and NHS guidelines, it is essential that we all take personal health and hygiene advice very seriously. More information about hand washing is being put up in public toilet and washroom facilities and we are also increasing hand sanitiser facilities. Please all do keep washing your hands and keep safe.
