St Ives Town Council is undertaking the refurbishment of an empty heritage building in the heart of St Ives – the former fire station, also known as the St John’s Ambulance building. As a first stage of the renovation, the failing slate roof will be replaced. The building is not listed, although it is attached to a listed structure and planning permission has been secured for the works.
