New Accessible Changing Places Toilet at Porthminster

The Town Council is installing a Changing Places Toilet at the Porthminster Public Conveniences and some of the cubicles will be closed during the work.

From Monday 2nd October until 1st of November 2023 three cubicles will be closed but three cubicles will remain open throughout.

About Changing Places Toilets:

A changing places toilet is a very large accessible toilet for adults with a severe physical disability. It has room for equipment such as a hoist, curtains, adult-sized changing benches and space for carers. The Council is one of four in Cornwall to be awarded government funding to install a new facility. Funds have been allocated to Porthminster because one of the aims of the fund is to help people enjoy experiences that most of us take for granted, like visiting the seaside.  Over a 1/4 million people in the UK need Changing Places Toilets to enable them to get out and about.

Many thanks for your patience whilst this work is carried out. We hope that the outcome will provide a much-needed local facility.
