A planning pre-application for proposals for PA25/00917/PREAPP – Carbis Bay has recently been made public.
This is not a planning application but a pre-application consultation – no formal application and decision are being made. An applicant / land owner is simply asking the planning authority whether a proposed land use is acceptable in principle and Cornwall Council will respond. The response will focus on policies and the suitability of the site.
The Town Council are not formally consulted on pre-applications. However, it will consider whether to respond on this occasion and provide a formal response to Cornwall Council.
We fully understand that local residents may have questions and concerns about the proposal and may want to express them. However, in circumstances such as this, Councillors’ role is to consider all the facts and information before providing a response as a Committee, not expressing individual views. The Committee, should it wish to provide a response, is able to put forward views and concerns in so far as they are relevant planning matters.
