Cornwall Council have put in place Dog Control Orders which limit the dates and times dogs are allowed on beaches.
In and around St Ives, Dogs are not allowed on the following beaches between the following dates and times:
15 May – 30 September 10am – 6pm
Carbis Bay, Porthmeor and Porthminster
1 July – 31 August 10am – 6pm
St Ives Harbour and Porthgwidden
Please beware: there are enforcement officers working in the town who can issue a fixed penalty notice of £100 for a breach of these restrictions.
St Ives Town Council asks Dog Owners to please respect others, our beaches and town by:
- Clearing up after your dog
- Walking your dog at low tide and on the sand that will be cleaned by the sea
- Keeping your dog on its lead at all times

Lambeth Walk
Bamaluz Beach
North side of Smeaton’s Pier (with Level Access)
If you notice incidences of dogs on beaches during the restrictions or dog fouling please report it to Cornwall Council:
