St Ives Town Council are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Cultural Services Manager, Emma Gibson. Emma grew up in Penwith and has 20 years’ experience of the creative sector in Cornwall, most recently as Communications Director at Miracle Theatre where she has worked for 10 years. Emma will bring to the role her passion for the arts and creative sector combined with commercial and marketing experience. She also loves the written word and working at the grass roots with communities. Alongside managing the combined library and visitor information services, she is taking on the challenge of linking this with other cultural and arts projects, including the re-opening of the concert hall and opening up the Council’s other venues and spaces.
Commenting on the new role, Emma said:
“I’m delighted to have been appointed as Cultural Services Manager and look forward to working with the dedicated staff team, stakeholders and wider partnerships to continue the delivery of high quality services whist exploring new opportunities this role brings for the future.”
Emma will start with the Town Council on the 6th of April. She will replace the valued and long-standing library manager, Jane Dews who is due to retire this year.
