Lambeth Walk beach is in the centre of town, situated on the far side of West pier, between the harbour beach and Porthminster. It is a tidal beach, almost disappearing at high tide. At low tide it emerges into a sandy beach which links up the harbour and Porthminster. Access is difficult across a large rocky strip, a spot where people often create rock sculptures in the Summer months. Yes, it does get its name from the other Lambeth Walk, after the song was part of a dance hall craze of the 1930s.
Lambeth Walk is dog friendly all year around.
