Premises Assistant (part-time)
12 hours a week (flexible) permanent
£23,500 pro rata
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the security, safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the Guildhall and other Council buildings. You will have a hands-on role in setting up rooms for markets, meetings, weddings and events.
You will carry out regular meter checks and testing of alarms and equipment. You will ensure facilities are clean and complete occasional minor maintenance tasks. You will support and set up the venue for future live events, arranging furniture, portering equipment. You will take delivery of supplies and report repairs to the maintenance team.
Hours are flexible with some evenings and weekend working. For the successful postholder, there may be scope to further increase working hours in the future.
ABOUT YOU
You will have sound experience of premises, cleaning, facilities or portering work, ideally in a similar setting. You are able to work on your own initiative, but at ease with being part of a team.
You have an ability to undertake some physically demanding tasks. Ideally you will have strong DIY or handyperson skills.
An interest in civic or public service and / or event management would be an advantage.
