The Cornerstone, St Ives Library, and Visitor Information are thrilled to announce this year’s Summer Reading Challenge Fun Day, set in the picturesque Palemon Best Park (aka Skatepark) on Monday 12th August.
Reading not only fuels imagination but also enhances creativity, providing children with the tools to think creatively and express themselves uniquely. The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to boost young readers’ confidence and foster a lifelong love for reading and creative exploration.
At the Reading Challenge Summer Fun Day you’ll find:
- Creative Workshops: Hands-on sessions where kids can express their creativity through art, storytelling, and crafts
- Football Games: Fun, friendly matches perfect for burning off energy and learning teamwork skills
Library Bus with Cornwall Libraries: A mobile library experience providing access to a wide range of books and resources - Shanty Singing: Join us for lively sessions of traditional shanty songs, celebrating the local maritime culture
- Mini Olympics with the Scouts: A fun-filled day of athletic challenges and games, where children can compete and collaborate in a spirit of friendly competition
