Permanent Role
Hours: Part time – 22.5 hours a week (equivalent to 3 full days, can be worked flexibly)
Pay: £24,294-£25,119 pro rata *pay award pending
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team administrator, who is highly organised and will support the work of the busy repair and maintenance services of the Town Council. You will be part of a small friendly reception team based at St Ives Guildhall.
THE ROLE
The Buildings and Amenities Team is responsible for the repair and upkeep of buildings, parks and open spaces in the parish of St Ives and the role supports the Team Manager to ensure that work gets delivered to programme. You will be involved in issuing jobs, ordering goods and services, negotiating competitive prices and liaising with external contractors.
The postholder also manages the Council’s allotment site and the repair and replacement of public and memorial benches. You will also oversee the management of the toilet cleaning contract.
Hours are flexible by negotiation and for the successful postholder, there may be scope to further increase working hours in the future.
ABOUT YOU
You will be an experienced administrator, highly organised and unphased by a busy work environment. You will be a confident communicator and committed to excellent customer service, numerate with strong Microsoft office skills. You are able to work on your own initiative, but at ease with being part of a team.
Knowledge of construction, maintenance, facilities management or the building trade would be an advantage.
