We are looking for a flexible, can-do senior maintenance officer to join our small friendly town team. The team are responsible for looking after many local buildings in St Ives, from the Guildhall and library to toilets, parks and war memorials.   

The role is varied and is split between both day to day reactive repairs and maintenance duties, but will also involve some small scale general building work: carpentry, doors and windows, blockwork, painting and decorating, tiling etc.  

Every day is different, and you will be involved in a wide range of duties to ensure that local properties are kept in good repair and safeguarded for future generations.

Ideally, we are looking for someone interested in full time work (37 hours a week), but we are also willing to consider applications from people looking for part time hours.  

About You 

You will have at least 3 years of working in a building, maintenance or related industry, ideally with a recognised skills qualification or a commitment to gaining one. You will have built up technical knowledge which you are keen to share with other team members. Procurement and staff supervision experience are also an advantage. You will thrive on challenge and variety and be at ease working in the busy seaside town of St Ives and take pride in making a contribution to the Town.  

You may, on occasion, be required to supervise the team and should be confident in engaging with a variety of people, including, suppliers and contractors.   

This position will involve some occasional weekend working.
