At the Town Meeting on Monday 25 April the Town Council and St Ives BID announced the winners of the Citizen of the Year Awards. The panel had received some excellent nominations which made the final decision for the panel very difficult.
The winners are:
Joint Citizen of the Year:
Louise Ninnes – for her voluntary work with the RFC, COVID clinics
John Paynter – for going the extra mile in his role as street cleaner
Business of the Year: The Wharf Post Office for their dedication and commitment to local businesses throughout the pandemic
Young Person of the Year: Lucy Gillespie and pupils from St Ives School who have been preparing meals during their “Be Inspired” cooking classes for the St Ives food bank. Freshly prepared, nutritious meals for over 30 families have been collected every second Thursday. Pictured: Miss Gillespie, Hannah, Joel and Sam
