Cornwall Council is making arrangements to remove the banks from Trenwith Car Park site during the week commencing 17 August 2020. They will install signs at the site from 03 August 2020, informing users that the banks will be permanently removed from the week commencing 17 August 2020. The signage will remain at the site for 4 weeks after the removal of the banks, to remind users how to recycle their waste, and to advise that any material left at the site after the removal will be classified as fly tipping. Following removal of the banks, the area in which the recycling banks were located will be monitored. Any recycling material left there will be investigated as fly tipping by the Council team. The site also has textile banks provided by independent charities. We do not manage these banks and will not be removing them as part of this process but we will be writing to the charities to let them know about our plan. It is possible that the charities may choose to either remove or relocate these banks within the area, so we will be in touch about this. An up to date list of removal dates for sites throughout Cornwall is published on the Cornwall Council website which can be found by clicking the following link: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/recycling-rubbish-and-waste/removal-of-recycling-banks/
If you have any queries, or you wish to discuss the removal of the recycling bank service, please contact the Waste Service by emailing wastemanagement@cornwall.gov.uk and a member of the team will contact you. The Town Council discussed this issue at the Community & Environment Committee on the 5 March and the 28 May 2020 where it was decided it was not financially viable for the Town Council to provide this service – please see the links to the minutes for more information:
