Councillors can make a huge difference and we need people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect the community of St Ives. Please note this is a volunteering position.
The Council is involved with running the rec and skatepark (with plans to take on more green spaces), the Library & Visitor Information, the Concert Hall, looking after benches, allotments, retail spaces, CCTV, toilets and historic buildings, street weeding and footpath cutting, hosting weddings, community and civic events and more….
It is also working on plans for low carbon transport and local management of more community facilities from Cornwall Council.

If you’re interested, contact us for an informal discussion or complete an application form, come along to the next Council meeting and tell us more about yourself. No previous experience is necessary as full training is given.
The closing date for submitting completed applications is midnight Monday 10th October 2021 and you will need to be able to attend a Council meeting on Thursday 13th October at 7pm.
