Work Programmes
THE GUILDHALL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Town Council has been progressing its plans for the re-development of the historic concert hall. This includes the modernisation of the building and a new sound system. We are excited that we have received funding from the St Ives Town Deal to realise our vision. Development plans will be progressed during the Spring of 2023.
THE DEVOLUTION PROGRAAME
The Council has an ambition to take over the running of a number of services from Cornwall Council to deliver them more efficiently and provide a quality service for the local area. The process of negotiating to take over these services is called devolution. An ambitious package for 2023 is under discussion including the transfer of open spaces, parks and gardens and some key local buildings. As the programme of assets is developed, more information will be accessed here.

Palemon Best Improvement Works
The building of a new concrete skatepark has been the catalyst for many improvements at the recreation ground. Water and power are being brought to the site for the first time with floodlighting and CCTV. Bike racks, water re-fill stations and new benches and picnic tables are being installed. It is hoped that the improvements will foster more activities and events to engage the local community and a community cafe project is under development. ST IVES CYCLING AND WALKING STRATEGY
The Council has recently commissioned a strategy to promote reductions in car use. It is hoped that the strategy will also begin a wider discussion about traffic and transport in the town. The Council is also developing a number of travel plans for its own sites.
